Workshop on Teaching English as a Foreign Language and Teachers' Ateliers

“Workshop on Teaching English as a Foreign Language and Teachers' Ateliers” was organized by the Faculty of Education in cooperation with the Governorship of Tokat, our University and the Provincial Directorate of National Education. The opening took place at the Şehit Hüseyin Kısa Conference Hall of the Faculty of Education, our vice rectors Prof. Dr. İsa Gökçe, Prof. Dr. İbrahim Özbay, Dean of the Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. Eren Yürüdür, Provincial Director of National Education Dr. Murat Ağar, academic staff and teachers participated.

            Head of Foreign Languages Department, Asst. Prof. Dr. Uğur Ada gave information about the workshop in his opening speech. Stating that English is very important in the international arena, Ada said that there is English education in almost all areas of the education process, starting from primary school. Ada concluded his speech by thanking those who contributed to the workshop.

             In his speech, Provincial Director of National Education Dr. Murat Ağar stated that he was very happy that the workshop took place. Emphasizing that the university carries out a qualified study by revealing all national and international literature, Ağar said that English is also an important field and that the workshop will contribute to the solution of problems. Stating that they will turn the results of the workshop into an action plan, Ağar thanked those who contributed to this organization.

  In his speech, Dean of the Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. Eren Yürüdür said that the workshop was held in coordination with the Governor's Office and the Provincial Directorate of National Education as a faculty. Indicating that the world is changing day by day, Yürüdür said that there are many changes in the professional field as well. Stating that the workshops have contributed to the way teachers and academicians need to renew themselves, Rüyadır concluded his speech by conveying his thanks to those who contributed.

            In his speech, our Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. İbrahim Özbay stated that in the workshop that will last for two days, the current situation will be revealed on the first day and the proposals will be conveyed, and the studies will be reported on the second day. Saying that he eagerly awaits the results of the workshop, which will include experts and teachers in the field, Özbay thanked those who contributed and ended his speech.

             The event, which will include workshops and ateliers in Language and English teaching, attended by 38 English teachers at primary and high school levels, will continue on March 17-18.
