Kazakhstan on the 30th Anniversary of Independence

                A celebration program on “Kazakhstan in the 30th Anniversary of Independence” was organized by the Turkish World Studies Application and Research Center of our university. The ceremony, which took place at the National Will Hall of the Congress and Culture Center on 15 July, was attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İsa Gökçe, Director of Turkish World Studies Application and Research Center Prof. Dr. Ömer Faruk Sönmez, International Relations Coordinator Prof. Dr. Kubilay Özyer, academicians and students attended.

                In his speech, Prof. Dr. Ömer Faruk Sönmez said, “The Turkish World is a large family of 300 million people, starting from the geography of Kazakhstan and spreading to the far corners of the world. As Rasulzade said, once a flag goes up, it never goes down. In order not to lower this flag, we will continue to work for the Turkish World in remote corners of Anatolia, under any circumstances. Prof. Dr. Ömer Faruk Sönmez thanked our teachers from Kazakhstan and our guests from Ankara.”

                In his speech, International Relations Coordinator Prof. Dr. Kubilay Özyer said, “There was a program about Turkmenistan 10 days ago. Now we are doing the Kazakhstan program. Our programs will continue. As a university that adds value to Tokat, its region and its environment with its 35 thousand students and 3500 international students, our university will continue to develop and grow. Thank you very much for your participation.”

                After the opening speeches, was made a presentation on Assoc. Dr. Imangazi Nurakhmet “The Origin of the Kazakh Turks”; Assoc. Dr. Laura DAWRENBEKOVA “Traditions of Kazakh Turks”; prof. Dr. Gülfira Ötepova “Independent and Modern Kazakhstan”.

                In the program, songs and poems were sung by Dr. Bekaris Nurimanov, Assoc. Dr. Laura Dawrenbekova, Assoc. Dr. Imangazi Nurakhmet. A traditional folk dance performance was also performed by the students. The program ended after the certificates appreciation were given to Prof. Dr. Gülfira Ötepova, Assoc. Dr. Imangazi Nurakhmet and Assoc. Dr. Laura Dawrenbekova by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. İsa Gökçe.
